Charities We Support

Supporting the Needs of Our Community

We support several charities and organisations either through the use of our facilities or through direct donations. Local charities are selected annually by our Church Council and regional charities are supported through annual Bishop's Appeals. Please see some examples, below.

Salvation Army (Porto)

The Salvation Army was founded in England in 1865 as a Christian movement, and now serves in over 130 countries. It has been operating in Porto since 1971, and provides home assistance, food distribution, day care, and many other services to the needy in our community.

2025 Bishop's Lent Appeal

Our Diocese in Europe & USPG work collaboratively with refugees across Europe: if you would like to contribute to this year's Lent appeal for projects supporting refugees in Ukraine, Stuttgart, and Brussels, you can make a transfer to our St James Bank Account (see details on the financial donations page) marking it clearly in the memo field for the 2025 Bishop's Lent Appeal.
